This place Thirumandangudi is the birth place of Thondaradipodi Alwar.This is an ancient temple recently renovated.

To retain the priest by making adequate payment of monthly remuneration there was paucity of funds and we have agreed to pay a monthly remuneration of Rs 500 to continue daily pooja . Mr Nagaraja Gurukkal, the priest has agreed to undertake the daily pooja in this temple.
